Selene Vedema 2024 is once again ready to capture the imagination of the wine world on the 20th and 21st of September 2024

With great pride and enthusiasm, we announce Selene Vedema 2024, set to take place in the imposing setting of Selene Restaurant and its wine caves on the 20th and 21st of September 2024. Always in collaboration with Master of Wine Yiannis Karakasis, the Selene Vedema is prepared to meet and exceed the expectations of its guests from Greece and around the world. This year, wine and food enthusiasts will be charmed by even more unique events and happenings. Alongside the much-anticipated masterclasses and tastings, the Selene Vedema will host renowned guests of honour and offer magnificent gastronomic experiences, all paired with some of the world’s most iconic wine labels.

This year's two-day festival, returning to the enchanting atmosphere of Selene restaurant in Fira, promises an array of unique wines from Santorini's local producers. Internationally acclaimed Masters of Wine Yiannis Karakasis and Wojciech Bonkowski will present experiential masterclasses. Additionally, renowned producer Giovanni Gaja will join us in a once in a lifetime wine dinner crafted by Michelin-starred chef Ettore Botrini, as well as an intriguing four-hands dinner featuring masterful culinary creations.

The "Volcanic Wines, The Power of Terroir"

Masterclass presented by Yiannis Karakasis MW and Wojciech Bonkowski MW. In recent years, volcanic wines have ignited fervent discussions within wine circles, captivating enthusiasts with their high energy, tension, and distinctive character. During this special masterclass, we will delve into the fascinating world of volcanic wines, renowned for their dynamic expression of terroir and intense minerality. From the volcanic slopes of Etna and Tenerife to the sun-drenched vineyards of Santorini and the historic cellars of Tokaji, we must prepare ourselves to embark on a sensory journey like no other.

The “Divine Drops"

Vinsanto, Vin Santo & Tokaji masterclass'' also presented by Yiannis Karakasis MW and Wojciech Bonkowski MW featuring some of the greatest sweet wines of the world – Vinsanto, Vin Santo, and Tokaji. These are eternal wines that carry the legacy of centuries of tradition.

A Gaja Wine Dinner

A Gaja Wine Dinner with the presence of Giovanni Gaja, fifth generation of the iconic Gaja winery. The wines of Gaja stand among the most celebrated in the world, and we are delighted to host Giovanni Gaja at Selene Restaurant. Along with Yiannis Karakasis MW, Wine Director of Katikies Hotels, Giovanni will showcase some of the estate's most precious wines, starring Gaia y Rey, Barbaresco, and Barolo Sperss. These exceptional wines will be paired with the exquisite creations of Selene’s Executive Chef Ettore Botrini.

A four hands dinner

Experience culinary mastery at the four-hands dinner during the Selene Vedema 2024. Michelin-starred chef Ettore Botrini hosts a world-renowned chef in Selene's open kitchen, promising an unforgettable evening.
